Similar to what we have seen in the B2C environment, the importance of digital channels for B2B companies has grown significantly in the past few years but has radically accelerated since the COVID-19 crisis started. Business Leaders now rate digital channels twice as important now and this is showing no sign of slowing down.

Most companies were forced to look to conserve cash and as such developer tools, cloud infrastructure, sales and marketing software spend were reduced.

Companies had to deal with new ways of selling (no face-to-face and remotely) and in a lot of cases selling with much smaller teams, coupled with buyer’s budgets constricted.

Looking at the verticals that have performed well during the COVID-19 crisis thus far, we have seen growth in the Tech, BFSI, Media, Insurance, Retail, Ecommerce, Education, EdTech, Food & Bev, Gaming, Government, Healthcare, Utilities, Telecom where there has been a negative growth in the Travel, Retail, Automotive and Hospitality verticals.

Companies who have been impacted by declining customer traffic and reduced sales revenues went back to SaaS vendors to renegotiate existing contracts more aggressively, request discounts and find ways to make short-term savings to manoeuvre their way through the crisis.

Nilesh

Nilesh Patel – Global Chief Executive Officer

Nilesh is focused on helping businesses in high velocity, high volume sales to improve their sales execution and increase sales efficiencies. He is on a mission to build LeadSquared as software partner of choice for sales execution for businesses, and he firmly believes that an awesome product and great customer service are both central to making that happen. He brings his decade long experience in sales and marketing to the team. Previously, Nilesh was the founder of Proteans, a recognized leader in software product development services space. He helped build the company from scratch to 350 people strong serving over 100 ISVs world-wide, before it was acquired by Symphony Teleca Corporation in 2010. Post-acquisition, Nilesh served as Vice-President of inside sales at Symphony before he decided to start LeadSquared. Nilesh has a degree in engineering from Delhi University, and before founding Proteans spent four years in IBM with their microprocessor test tools division.

Prashant Singh

Prashant Singh – Chief Operating Officer

Prashant is co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of LeadSquared. He heads all post-sales Customer Centric operations and is responsible for business retention, growth and expansion. Prior to LeadSquared, Prashant was co-founder of Proteans, and he served as the COO. Post Symphony Teleca acquiring Proteans, he served as Vice President and P & L head for business unit of Energy, Healthcare and Media verticals. Prashant is alumnus of IIT Delhi with degree in in Mathematics and Computer. Prior to founding Proteans, he was part of several product development teams in Telesoft, i2 technologies and Oracle.
Sudhakar Gorti

Sudhakar Gorti – Chief Product Officer

Sudhakar, co-founder of LeadSquared, heads the product design and development. He is on a mission to build LeadSquared as the sales execution platform of choice for enterprises. Sudhakar was one of the founders of Proteans and he served there as the CEO. He was instrumental in making Proteans a hugely successful and admired company that won several international awards for its credentials in product engineering services space. Working with dozens of world-class software vendors in the past has inspired him to take up the challenge of building the game changing software for marketers – LeadSquared. Sudhakar has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Prior to founding Proteans, he served in various software development roles at IBM, Talisma Corporation (now part of Campus Management Corp) and Oracle Software.
Sukhbir Kalsi

Sukhbir Kalsi – Senior Vice President, Product Development

Sukhbir is a founding member of LeadSquared, and runs the product engineering team. He brings more than 20 years of web application development experience to LeadSquared, majority of which is in CRM and marketing systems. Before LeadSquared, Sukhbir has led the efforts in managing and architecting MS Dynamics CRM implementations for various medium and large enterprises, bringing in a high degree of user and customer satisfaction. His earlier experience includes software development and management for Proteans and NetSolutions. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Karnataka University, Dharward.
