How POPI Will Affect Direct Marketing

The Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act, 2013, will soon be signed into effect. This piece of legislation is going to have far reaching impacts on every business. In short, businesses will no longer be able to use direct marketing to solicit business from consumers without having their prior consent.
